Buyer Protection Policy

At Layra, we want every purchase to feel safe, transparent, and fair. While Layra is a peer-to-peer marketplace, we’re committed to protecting buyers and supporting respectful resolution when issues arise.

What Buyer Protection Covers

Buyer Protection may apply if:

  • You receive an item that is significantly different from its listing description

  • The item has undisclosed major damage

  • You receive the wrong item

  • Your item does not arrive

What to Do If There’s an Issue

If there is a problem with your order:

  1. Contact the seller directly through Layra within 48 hours of delivery - under customer care select on seller profiles to contact seller.

  2. Provide clear photos and a brief explanation of the issue

  3. Attempt to resolve the matter with the seller first

Layra’s Role

Layra may step in to support communication and help review evidence, but does not guarantee refunds. Final refund decisions remain at the seller’s discretion unless a listing breaches Layra’s platform guidelines.

What Is Not Covered

Buyer Protection does not apply to:

  • Change of mind

  • Fit issues (unless misdescribed)

  • Items marked “Final Sale”

  • Jewellery and accessories (unless faulty)

  • Custom or altered garments

Returns Are Seller-Set

On Layra, every piece is individually owned — which means each seller chooses whether they accept returns.

If a return is accepted:

  • You’ll receive a refund minus Layra’s service fee and shipping costs

  • This ensures sellers are protected while keeping the marketplace fair for everyone

You’ll always see a seller’s return policy clearly listed on every product page before you purchase.

Gentle Trust Layer

Because Layra is a community of real people, not warehouses, we ask buyers to shop mindfully and sellers to list honestly — creating a kinder, safer resale space for everyone.

Platform Commission

Layra’s platform commission is non-refundable once a transaction is completed.

Respectful Use

We ask all users to communicate respectfully and provide honest information. Abuse of the Buyer Protection process may result in account restrictions.
